Bodytone collaborates with researchers from UCAM on research projects aimed at improving performance, health, and innovation in the fitness sector. This alliance between company and university reinforces Bodytone's commitment to science, technology, and the development of professional training.

Bodytone, a leading Murcia-based company in professional fitness equipment, continues to strengthen its commitment to applied research and technological development through collaboration with researchers from the Faculty of Sport at the Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM), especially those linked to the Exercise , Science & Training Research Group .

In a recent meeting with Dr. Javier Orquín, professor and researcher in Physical Activity and Sports Sciences, new lines of research and development were discussed, aimed at improving the personalization of training through advanced technology, physiological data and scientific validation.

Individualized training and real-time monitoring

The focus of this collaboration is on developing methodologies and solutions that allow training to be tailored to each individual's capabilities. Using parameters such as execution speed, fatigue, and the power-force curve, the aim is to design tools that optimize performance while maintaining the essential role of the coach.

“The key is that the data should not only be descriptive, but should allow for real-time modification of the training based on the user's condition. That makes a total difference in terms of effectiveness and personalization,” says Dr. Orquín.

Big Data, AI and biomechanics at the service of fitness

The collaboration with UCAM researchers also includes the scientific validation of sensors used in training, as well as the exploration of algorithms that automatically adjust variables such as load and intensity. This vision positions Bodytone to offer evidence-based solutions that integrate Big Data, artificial intelligence, and applied biomechanics.

Among the next steps being considered are electromyography studies to analyze the actual muscle activation on different equipment and configurations, which will allow for improved efficiency of movements and reduced risks.

Training, entrepreneurship and knowledge transfer

Beyond technological development, Bodytone has participated in training sessions at the UCAM campus aimed at students of the Bachelor's Degree in Sports Science. These initiatives seek to inspire interest in sports entrepreneurship and familiarize future professionals in the sector with the realities of the market.

“At Bodytone, we want students to learn about innovation, research, and entrepreneurship in the fitness industry. The future of training lies in combining science, technology, and user experience,” emphasizes Antonio Lledó, the brand's marketing manager.

Shared vision towards innovation

This collaboration with researchers from UCAM, combined with Bodytone's industrial expertise, opens new opportunities to advance towards more precise, personalized, and data-driven fitness. This synergy, although still lacking an active institutional framework, reinforces the Region of Murcia's role as a hub for development in training science and cutting-edge sports equipment.
